KTRWA is the only organization in Korea officially authorized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to operate as a
Copyright Management Organization (CMO) for broadcasting writers under Article 105 of the Copyright Act.
It is dedicated to protecting writers’ rights and operates transparently through regular government, internal, and external audits.

KTRWA negotiates the ‘Standard Fee Table for TV & Radio Writers’
on behalf of broadcast writers with major terrestrial broadcasters in Korea.
The ‘Standard Fee Table for TV & Radio Writers’ set through negotiations are the minimum writing royalties.
This is one of the key tasks our association undertakes annually
to improve writers' treatment and working conditions.
It applies to all genres, including drama, documentary, entertainment/reality, and radio,
and terrestrial broadcasters must pay
at least the standard fee.
The Standard Agreement for TV Writers Writing has been established through consultations between
the Korean government, broadcasting stations, production companies, and KTRWA. It now serves as the standard agreement
for writer contracts in various broadcasting programs, including dramas, current affairs, and entertainment shows.
KTRWA provides legal consultation to help writers adhere to the Standard Agreement for TV Writers Writing and also urges broadcasters and production companies to draft contracts in accordance with it.
The Korean government likewise recommends the use of the Standard Agreement for TV Writers Writing.
Broadcasting stations and production companies that fail to produce written contracts may be subject to legal sanctions.
KTRWA is committed to enhancing the quality of life and protecting the rights of broadcast writers by offering a wide range of welfare services, including support for personal events, condolence assistance, regular health checkups, and participation in cultural and exchange programs both domestically and abroad.
In addition, KTRWA provides ongoing legal consultation and dispute resolution support, and operates genre-specific training programs—such as drama, entertainment, current affairs, and radio—to nurture future broadcast writers.
